RSC at Techarena 2026: Two Days in Stockholm That Changed How We Think About the Nordics

RSC attended Techarena 2026 in Stockholm. Scandinavia's biggest tech event. Here's what we saw, who we met, and why the Nordic market is now a strategic priority for us as an EU AI and data engineering partner.

Techarena 2026 Β· Strawberry Arena Β· Stockholm Β· Feb 11–12

Stockholm, February. Our flight landed at Arlanda at 6am, we were at Strawberry Arena by 9. No real coffee yet. Didn't matter, within thirty minutes I was deep in a conversation with a Finnish fintech about validating LLM outputs in a regulated environment. That's Techarena.

We went with a simple goal: understand the Nordic market from inside it, not from a report. Two days later we flew home with something more useful. Actual conversations with people trying to solve the same problems our clients are solving.

What we actually saw on the floor

AI fatigue is real. And productive. The "AI will change everything" phase is over in the Nordics. What we saw instead were practitioners asking harder questions. Not "should we use AI" but "where specifically does it break, and how do we handle that." That's a more interesting conversation. That's where RSC lives.

Three patterns came up repeatedly across companies we spoke with. Legacy infrastructure that's blocking AI adoption, systems too brittle to connect to modern tooling. Governance concerns that are slowing deployment, especially in finance and healthcare, where you can't just ship and iterate. And a talent gap that's real: people who understand both the engineering and the AI layer are genuinely hard to find.

The Nordic market is different

More collaborative than I expected. Companies that would be competitors elsewhere were openly sharing what wasn't working. There's a pragmatism here, no one was trying to sound impressive, everyone was trying to figure out what actually works. I found that refreshing. Also slightly unusual coming from markets where everyone's guarding their playbook.

The procurement cycles are longer. The expectations around reliability and documentation are higher. And the appetite for "move fast and fix it later" is much lower, which honestly suits how RSC builds. We're not a prototype shop. We build things meant to last.

Why we're expanding into the Nordics

The honest version: we saw a fit. European company, strong delivery track record, 15 years of enterprise work across finance and logistics. That profile resonates here in a way it doesn't always elsewhere. The conversations at Techarena confirmed it wasn't just us projecting.

We're not setting up an office and calling it expansion. We're taking on Nordic clients, building relationships, learning the market properly. Starting with the companies we met in Stockholm that wanted to keep the conversation going. If you're one of them. Or if you weren\'t there but want to talk, reach out.
